John Muir Trust

A Wonderful Opportunity to Connect, Protect and Restore

I am delighted and honoured to be a part of the growing John Muir Trust family.

“A world where wild places are respected and protected, where nature flourishes and where the value of wildness is shared for the benefit of everyone.

Alongside communities nationwide, we work to inspire greater involvement in wild nature. We campaign to protect wild places and speak up for their benefits, and we repair and rewild land in our care for the common good.”

About John Muir Trust

The John Muir Trust is a community focused conservation charity dedicated to the experience, protection and repair of wild places across the UK.

Founded in 1983, the John Muir Trust care for some of the finest wild places in the UK, including Ben Nevis, Helvellyn and Sandwood Bay. Over 25,000 members, supporters and partners contribute to our work.

Help to restore our wild woods by planting a tree at Glenlude, Schiehallion or Skye. Your symbolic gift will support work to regenerate native woodlands in some of our wildest landscapes, restoring ecosystems and encouraging the return of wildlife such as woodland birds, pine marten and red squirrel.

Support the John Muir Trust work in wild places – for the benefit of the landscape, wildlife and people.

  • Enable wild places to thrive
  • We are a conservation charity dedicated to the experience, protection and repair of wild places
  • Alongside communities nationwide, we connect people with wild places, campaign to protect those places, and restore and rewild land for the common good
  • Collaborating with local partners, we work towards landscape-scale restoration of natural processes; the expansion of native woodlands, the nurturing of rare mountain plants, and on footpath repair through some of the country’s wildest places.

Wild places are essential for the wellbeing of people and wildlife, now and into the future. The John Muir Trust exists to help people connect with and experience wild places, to protect wild places from development that compromises their character and to work with others to enhance, repair and rewild ecosystems and landscapes.

Through their advocacy work the John Muir Trust encourage you to engage with the issues that affect wild places. Support campaigns for change that will help protect wild places and rewild damaged habitats.
