Do you fancy the chance of capturing some of the most spectacular scenery the British Isles has to offer?
I am offering the opportunity to join me on a journey which will take you to some of the most beautiful landscapes in the British Isles.
Quintessential Highland country such as this, with breathtaking emptiness, a wild, fragile beauty and single-track roads, is a rarity on the modern, crowded, highly urbanised island of Britain. You could get lost up here for weeks – and that still wouldn’t be enough time.
Iconic mountains such as Stac Pollaidh and Suilven will provide a stunning backdrop to our pictures. This area is particularly rich for opportunities, with its mountains, lochs, beaches and seascapes.
Assynt is situated amongst some of the wildest and most remote scenery in the United Kingdom. The area is dominated by spectacular mountain scenery where isolated sandstone mountains rise up from an undulating landscape that is itself formed of Lewisian Gneiss, one of the oldest rock types found on our planet.
We will visit some of the most scenic areas there, including Loch Assynt with its own castle that occupies a promontory on the north shore. Ardvreck castle has been the home of the MacLeod and MacKenzie families and has seen many battles.

This is the only large holiday house for 10 or more guests on the North West Coast of Sutherland and you would go a long way to find such a luxurious, spacious and yet cosy house. Originally a crofters cottage, the house has recently been extended and refurbished throughout to provide a very high standard of accommodation with 7 bedrooms, 5 of which are en-suite and everything you would expect from a high-end holiday house. For example, there is high speed broadband Wi-Fi throughout the house, Digital TV with Apple TV and a DVD player (with a big selection of films) , a large 4 oven gas AGA, a heated dog room, a games room, bread making machines for those who love the smell of freshly baked bread in the morning and even an ice cream maker.
The ever changing and much photographed Clashnessie beach is only 200 yards down the drive and the waterfall (after which Clashnessie is named) is just a short walk up the strath, with lochs for fishing beyond (permit required). There are many walks from the house in all directions, with views of Sutherland’s iconic mountains: Quinag, Stac Pollaidh, Suilven and Canisp. In addition, sea kayaking, bicycling, horse riding, fly and sea fishing are all available locally. Experience Europe’s last real wilderness and return to the warmth and comfort of our much loved family holiday home. This is as far from an average holiday let as you can get!
