The beautiful, clean and quiet beach at Clashnessie.

Located just 10 miles north of Lochinver, this beach never fails to impress. The soft pink sand and the micro climate of Clashnessie provides a perfect stop off whilst negotiating the narrow single track roads on the Drumbeg loop. A challenging, interesting road but you will be rewarded with spectacular views on some of the narrowest roads you’ll ever drive along.

This small bay is just along from the large pink sandy beach of Clashnessie. Due to the closeness of the Atlantic Ocean Gulf Stream, Clashnessie has a mild climate, although it is no stranger to the wild seas.

However, a perfect summer sunset and a gentle outgoing tide provided me a perfect opportunity to capture the softer side of this beautiful stretch of the Sutherland coastline.
