As I stood there at 6am, taking in the breathtaking natural scene before me, I couldn’t help but feel peaceful and calm. However, my serene moment was quickly interrupted by the bustle of activity going on around me. Behind me, there were two bustling photography workshops and an Italian fashion shoot complete with drones. Even as I was leaving, a bus full of eager tourists had just arrived. Don’t get me wrong – Valensole Plateau is undoubtedly a stunning location marked by natural beauty that is beyond question.

However, visitors should bear in mind that in the months of June and July, when lavender is in full bloom, it can become unbearably crowded. Nonetheless, Valensole Plateau is still a magical place all year round, especially when the flowers are in full glory – it’s a photographer’s haven.
