Amidst the vast, untamed beauty of Torridon, a solitary tree stands as a quiet sentinel, its branches reaching toward the sky. Surrounded by the rugged grandeur of the Torridon Peaks, this lone tree seems to embody the very spirit of this wild landscape. The warm autumn hues of the surrounding foliage guide the eye naturally toward it, framing the tree against the dramatic backdrop of towering mountains.

As I captured this moment, the landowner approached, sharing that this tree was his favourite in the whole of Torridon. He told me that, in 35 years, I was the first person he had ever seen photograph it—a rare and humbling privilege. The scene, with its perfect blend of nature’s majesty and solitude, remains one of my most treasured memories.
