Ever since watching Local Hero back in the 1980’s starring Burt Lancaster & since living in the Scottish Highlands, I have always wanted to visit Pennan, used as one of the main locations in the film.
Finally, at last, over the weekend, I was able to find the time to drive across to this beautiful part of the Aberdeenshire coastline.
And just for a few hours, I was able to soak up over 30 years of my memories of the wonderful film.
Having recently been to the gorgeous Camusdarach Beach, also used as a main location for the film, my pilgrimage is now complete…
